When suffering comes- whatever the source – we can often cry out “Why me?” and “Where are you Lord?” If that’s you, this Psalm offers a means to face suffering and to do so through the eyes of faith.
Remembrance Sunday pulls at our emotions: We feel thankful for the sacrifice of the past but unsettled about the present and fearful of the future. But Psalm 9 gives us the antidote to fear and worry… if only the God and Saviour of the Psalmist is our God and Saviour too.
“O Lord!” Cries the Psalmist, “How Majestic is your name in all the earth!” Perhaps you’ve done the same when overwhelmed by the beauty of creation or the new baby in your arms. Often we get stuck marvelling at the creation – but this Psalm takes us to the One who made it all.
