Parochial Church Council (PCC)
The parochial church council (PCC) is the executive committee of a Church of England parish. Any parish clergy are members ex officio along with the churchwardens. There should also be representatives of the laity (non-ordained members of the congregation).
The PCC is responsible for managing church finances, maintaining the church building and promoting the mission of the church. The Rector of St Nicholas is the PCC Chairman and the Vice-Chair is a lay person.
The St Nicholas PCC meets every two months to discuss the implementation of the MAP and other matters of business. There is an annual parochial church meeting (APCM) in April where the PCC presents its reports and PCC members are elected. To be eligible to vote at the APCM, you must be on the church’s electoral roll.
The PCC is a registered charity of which the PCC members are the Trustees. (Charity Commission number 1161229)
