When do we meet?
As well as Sunday services held weekly at St Nicholas, Stevenage (and St Mary, Graveley), we also have regular mid-week services on Wednesdays. For other special events, please see the church calendar.
Our services follow a regular monthly pattern. (Any changes will be shown in the online church calendar.)
St Nicholas
Whilst the church building is closed for building work we will be meeting each Sunday at the Leys School. Ripon Road, Stevenage.
Our Sunday service is at 10:45am each week. Each service includes hymns and songs, readings from the Bible, prayers, a time of confession and a talk from the Bible to help us understand what God has to say to us today. The service lasts around 80 minutes, and coffee and tea are served after each service.
Each week there are age-appropriate groups for children, although children are most welcome to stay in the main service with their parents.
On the 2nd, 4th and 5th Sundays of any month we also share communion (sometimes called the Eucharist or the Lord’s Supper).
The Church is equipped with an accessible toilet and changing facilities are available.
St Mary, Graveley
Our partner church is St Mary Graveley, which is located off the left of Church Lane, Graveley. Their weekly Sunday Services are at 9:30am each week and follow the following pattern.
1st Sunday Holy Communion with choir
2nd Sunday Service of the Word
3rd Sunday Short service of Holy Communion following the Book of Common Prayer
4th Sunday Cafe Church: an interactive service with time for discussion
5th Sunday Service of the Word
Each service includes hymns, prayers, Bible readings and a talk. Refreshments are served on 2nd and 4th Sundays.
