Paul tells the Ephesians (and us) that amongst Christians there “should not be even a hint of sexual immorality.” Why? What does that look like? Today we take a brief overview of this hugely controversial and challenging area as we seek to live a life worthy of the calling we have received.
We are in Christ, we should strive to keep the unity of the Spirit but personally, as followers of Christ, we should live different to the world, living Christlike lives of honesty and kindness.. because that’s what Jesus did for us!
Over chapters 4 to 6, Paul challenges his readers to ‘live a life worthy of the calling they have received.’ That begins with a call to maintain, with great humility, the unity God has wrought by the work of the Spirit and to all play our part in the building up of God’s people. The aim is spiritual maturity and godliness of character.
So how much does God have for his people? It’s deeper, wider and higher than we can ever imagine!
